This agreement is made between Ghassan Zakaria Center INC. dba Ghassan Zakaria Arabic Language Center. (“Center”) and the undersigned Student (or Parent/Guardian if the student is under 18). By executing this document, the student (and Parent/Guardian, if applicable) acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to the following terms and conditions for enrollment in online classes.
Instructor Qualifications
Instruction will be provided by qualified personnel designated by the Center. The Center's founder and primary instructor is Professor Ghassan Zakaria, an experienced professor of Arabic language and culture. Professor Zakaria has extensive experience teaching Arabic at all proficiency levels and has developed comprehensive instructional materials and proficiency-based assessments aligned with the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) scale. His areas of expertise include Modern Standard Arabic, Levantine Dialect, Conversational Arabic, and Arabic Culture. The Center reserves the right to substitute instructors, provided they possess comparable qualifications and experience.
Eligibility
The Center will not accept any student under the age of 16 at the beginning of the course. If the Student is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign this agreement. By executing this Agreement, the Parent/Guardian confirms and accepts responsibility for verifying that the student is at least 16 years old as of the start date of the course.

Classes & Delivery
All classes and educational content are delivered exclusively online. The Center is not responsible for any technical issues on the student’s end, including, but not limited to, internet connectivity problems, device or computer failures, or software difficulties. The student is responsible for ensuring they have an adequate browser, a reliable internet connection, a functioning device, and access to Zoom and Canvas.
Required Materials
Students are not required to purchase any textbooks currently on the market. The Center will provide its own handouts and course materials for each class.
Tuition & Payment
The full tuition amount is due and payable at the time of registration through the link provided on the Center's website. Payment of the full tuition amount secures the student’s spot in the program.
Refund Policy
A 50% refund of tuition paid is available only if the student chooses to withdraw from the program after the first-class session has concluded but before the second session begins. No refunds, partial or full, will be issued after the second session has started. The Center reserves the right to cancel a class before the first day for any reason (for example, if not enough students register). If a class is canceled for this reason, the student will receive a full refund of all tuition paid.
Student Responsibilities and Conduct
The student is responsible for attending all scheduled Zoom sessions, participating fully in the class, and completing all activities and assignments. The student is expected to arrive on time and to behave in a respectful and appropriate manner toward the instructor and other students. The student agrees to keep their camera on during all Zoom sessions.
The Center reserves the right to terminate a student’s enrollment without a refund for a material breach of these terms. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Disruptive or Inappropriate Behavior: Behavior that interferes with the learning environment or the ability of others to participate, such as using offensive language, making personal attacks, or repeatedly interrupting the instructor or other students.
- Academic Misconduct: Any form of dishonesty that affects academic work, including but not limited to cheating, plagiarism, or unauthorized collaboration on assignments.
Intellectual Property and Copyright
All educational content, materials, and resources, including but not limited to lesson plans, handouts, exercises, and any other proprietary information provided by the Center, are and shall remain the exclusive intellectual property of the Ghassan Zakaria Center. The student is granted a limited, non-transferable, and non-exclusive license to use these materials solely for their personal, non-commercial use in connection with the enrolled course.
The student agrees not to copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or in any way exploit the Center's intellectual property without the express written consent of the Ghassan Zakaria Center. The student is strictly prohibited from making their own recordings of the class sessions. Unauthorized use, distribution, or sharing of any course materials or recordings is a material breach of this Agreement and may subject the student to legal action for copyright infringement.
Scope of Services and Limitation of Liability
The Center shall provide educational services and instruction covering the curriculum, topics, and materials as outlined in the Course Syllabus ("Syllabus") provided to students for their registered course level. The student acknowledges that tuition fees are for the delivery of these instructional services and access to the specified course content.
The student understands that learning progress varies naturally due to individual differences among students, including factors such as personal effort, practice, and aptitude. The Center is responsible for delivering the content detailed in the Syllabus, and it is committed to providing the highest level of instruction, resources, and support to help each student make steady and meaningful progress toward their goals. While the Center cannot promise identical results or guarantee a specific level of proficiency or academic outcome by finishing this course, it strives to ensure that all participants receive excellent education and the best possible opportunity for success.
In consideration of the services provided, the student, on behalf of themselves, their heirs, and their assigns, hereby releases and holds harmless the Center and its instructors, employees, and agents from any and all liability, claims, or damages, including but not limited to personal injury or financial loss, that may arise from or in connection with the Student's participation in the program. This release of liability shall not apply to damages caused directly by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the Center.
Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. The parties explicitly agree that by entering into this Agreement, all disputes, claims, and controversies, regardless of the student’s location or place of residency, will be subject to the jurisdiction and laws of the State of California.
Dispute Resolution
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this Agreement, including the determination of the scope or applicability of this agreement to arbitrate, shall be determined by arbitration in California before a single arbitrator. The arbitration shall be administered by a mutually agreed-upon arbitration service. Judgment on the Award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. This clause shall not preclude parties from seeking provisional remedies in aid of arbitration from a court of appropriate jurisdiction. All parties agree to waive any right to a trial by jury in any action or proceeding arising out of or related to this Agreement.
Entire Agreement
This document constitutes the entire agreement between the Center and the Student and supersedes all prior agreements, understandings, and negotiations, whether oral or written.
Authority, Consent, and Financial Guarantee
The individual executing this Agreement (the "Signatory") confirms they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all terms and conditions contained herein.
- If the Student is 18 years of age or older, the student must sign this agreement. Their signature affirms they are a legal adult with the authority to enter into this binding contract, and they personally assume all obligations, including the full payment of tuition and fees.
- If the Student is under the age of 18, their legal parent or guardian must sign this agreement. The parent/guardian's signature represents and warrants that they are the student’s legal guardian with full authority to bind the student to this Agreement. The signature further signifies their consent for the student to enroll and participate in the courses and constitutes their unconditional personal guarantee for all of the students’ obligations, including the full payment of tuition and fees.
The Signatory agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Center from any claims or losses arising from a breach of these representations (for example, a claim that the signature was unauthorized or that the Signatory lacked the legal authority to enter this Agreement).
